Earth is my Mother, I am the child of Earth! The rain-cloud is my father, may he nourish us with bounty!
The Universal Charter of Ecological Conservation
Rishi Atharvan proclaims the Earth as a living, interconnected macro-organism: "The Earth is my mother, and I am the child of the soil." He prohibits reckless ecological pillaging, commanding that whatever is excavated from the Earth must be replenished to prevent desecrating its vital centers (Marmans).
