tryambakaṃ yajāmahe sugandhiṃ puṣṭivardhanam | urvārukam iva bandhanān mṛtyor mukṣīya māmṛtāt ||
Universal Translation
We worship the Three-Eyed Lord (Shiva), the fragrant one who nourishes and sustains all beings. As a ripe cucumber is effortlessly liberated from its vine, may we be liberated from death, but not from immortality.
